2026-01-09 Three Things-ish

I’ve been trying to keep up with the daily three things, but the past few days have been incredibly emotionally taxing and I’ve been struggling to put anything into words that makes sense.

I try to find light in my family life and my circle that’s supportive but there’s so much darkness out there right now that it feels futile. ICE murdered a woman in the streets of Minneapolis. Shot her multiple times and then called her a “fucking bitch”. And now we have to go on living our lives, making Mac and cheese, reading kids books, and building magnetiles, while Renee Good doesn’t get to do any of that anymore.

I listened to the incredible NPR two-part series from “Consider This” about the J6 rioters and being pardoned, and all it made me feel was angry — angry that the leader of our country is a leader only for his supporters, not for the country. And if you’re on the outside, you’re the enemy. So here I am — the enemy, I guess.

Anyway, here’s three things from today:

1. Grok sucks. And it might get banned in the EU for generating CSAM

2. The Curious George movie soundtrack is one of the best, hands down. Jack Johnson did an amazing job.

3. Starting the final season of Stranger Things. I’ve heard great things and not great things. I’m excited either way to see how this ends.
